Wayne stays away from care homes

-

IN OCTOBER, footballer Wayne Rooney underwent an emergency Covid test after a visit from an infected pal.

He was told that, if it was negative, he’d be free to play in Derby County’s next match. If it was positive, he’d have to stay away from care homes.

Controversial MP Margaret Ferrier refused to quit her £80,000-a-year job, insisting the coronavirus makes you “act out of character”.

If that’s true, surely the entire Scotland squad should have self-isolated after qualifying for a major tournament…?

Fans were locked out of Scottish football in 2020. Well, apart from George Galloway. (According to rumour, the former Celebrity BB contestant got into QoS v Dundee through the stadium’s cat-flap.)

With the turnstiles shut, I reckon there’s only one contender for the 2020 Quote of the Year. Take a bow Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd, who said: “Nobody wants to go and watch their team behind closed doors.”

Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard demanded a timetable to get supporters back into games. A spokesman for the Federation of Partick Thistle Supporters’ Clubs said: “Ach, you’re fine, there’s nae rush…”

This year, the Olympics, Wimbledon and Euro 2020 were all postponed. But it wasn’t all bad news – the Eurovision Song Contest was also cancelled.

PS, the first delivery of Covid vaccine arrived in Scotland at the start of December under tight security. Two hundred cops, 150 riot police and 300 armed soldiers were relived of duty at Celtic Park and transferred to the secret location.
