Ex says Dan Brown led a double life

-

BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN THE Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown, known for writing about conspiracies and secret societies, has been accused by his ex-wife of leading a double life.

In a new lawsuit, the bestselling author is alleged to have been secretly siphoning off vast sums of money to conduct “sordid, extra-marital affairs”.

Blythe Brown made the claims against her former husband, whose most famous book sold more than 80million copies before being turned into a blockbuster film.

The pair divorced last December after more than 21 years of marriage.

She alleges in the suit the 56-year-old author engaged in “unlawful and egregious conduct” that amounted to a “proverbial life of lies” during the final years of their life together.

She claims he secretly diverted funds to buy lavish gifts for his mistresses, including for a Dutch horse trainer by the initials JP.

Blythe brought the woman from Holland to the US in 2013 to work with a Friesian horse the couple owned, according to the suit filed in Rockingham Superior Court, New Hampshire.

After the pair’s divorce was finalised, Blythe alleges she learned that her thenhusband had begun an affair with JP in 2014.

She claims the best selling author bought his mistress a £280,000 horse named “LimiTed Edition,” a new car, a truck and paid for renovations to her home in Holland which substantially reduced the marital estate.

She’s suing her former husband for allegedly misrepresenting the couple’s assets in the divorce and for inflicting emotional distress.
