I’ll be new man after this – Fury

UPDATE

-

TYSON FURY vowed to emerge a different man from the coronavirus crisis as he admitted it has put his boxing future in perspective.

The Gypsy King insisted talk of a third bout with Deontay Wilder must be put on hold amid the lockdown.

Fury said: “Sometimes we get lost in the ride of life, thinking about our ambitions and everything.

“And we forget about the really important things – families, friends, loved ones, health. It has awoken me because I was one of those people who fell victim to that.”

Fury has accepted a challenge from Ayr’s Drew McIntyre for a wrestling match after he became the first British WWE champion.

But the WBC world kingpin and Anthony Joshua will have to wait until the summer of 2021 to meet for the undisputed heavyweight crown. Both have seen summer fights delayed and the WBC insist Dillian Whyte’s mandatory title shot must still happen before the end of February. TENNIS: Pros will swap racquets for game console controllers later this month.

The Madrid Open will become an e-sports replica, with male and female winners deciding how much from each of their £132,000 prize purses goes to players facing financial hardship.

Organisers said a further £44,000 will go towards “reducing the social impact of the Covid-19 pandemic” as a result of the four-day event from April 27. SNOOKER: Stephen Hendry believes Judd Trump is set to dominate for a decade.

The world No.1 became the first player to win six titles in the same season.

Hendry declared Trump has the same “greed” that drove him and added: “It could be total domination for the next 10 years.” ATHLETICS: The British Championships have been shifted from June to August 8 and 9. But British Athletics have left July’s Anniversary Games in London and August’s Grand Prix in Gateshead untouched.
