Social media distancing? Don’t be daft

Klan film final episode on iPhones but they’re not going away just yet

THE series finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians is being filmed on iPhones because of social distancing rules. Kim and Co – who are famous for using their phones for selfies – are trying to do their bit to help during the coronavirus crisis. Billionaire sister Kylie Jenner’s skincare brand is to start producing hand sanitisers for hospitals across California to help fight the pandemic. And Kim’s shapewear company is “exploring ways to make medical-grade masks” for the frontline hospital staff. She revealed the worldwide lockdown has caused the family to shut down production of their E! reality TV show, shown on hayu in the UK. Although they’ve already filmed most of the 18th season, they have had to record the last episode separately on the mobiles because they’re social distancing. Kim, 39, told The Tonight Show: At Home Edition: “We filmed the entire season except for the last episode. So now that we’ve shut down production, it’ll be all of us in quarantine filmed separately by ourselves.

“We have tripods set up, and our iPhones, and the whole last episode will be what we do in quarantine. I’ll get to see what Khloe’s doing — I mean, I literally have no idea what everyone else has been doing.”

The family – including matriarch Kris Jenner and other siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Kendall, have been staying away from one another since the beginning of the month.

But they are using their big bank balances and cultural clout to try to make a difference.

Kylie, 22 has already donated £800,000 to help supply protective wear to healthcare professionals fighting coronavirus on the front lines.

Now the mum of one and Kris will be distributing antibacterial gels – which are in short supply due to the global health crisis – via the beauty conglomerate and Kylie Skin investor, Coty.

The hand sanitiser will also included a special message for recipients, which will read: “Dedicated to first responders working to support our communities.”

Kim, who is married to rapper Kanye West, is looking for further ways to help.

She has revealed the factories that produce the items for her SKIMS brand are hoping to create the facial gear that will provide protection for health workers looking after coronavirus patients.

Speaking on The View, she said: “It’s a huge shift in what we do, and we’re so happy we’re seeing some good information that we’re gonna be able to help out.”
