A big thank you – and congratulations
Health Awards is testament to NHS Scotland and those working across health and social care in Scotland.
As Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport, I am very privileged to see first-hand the energy, commitment and compassion shown by people working in our NHS and in social care.
As well as celebrating the important contribution that frontline health and social care staff make, the Awards also shine a light on those who work so hard behind the scenes in roles that support the services that make a significant difference to people’s lives across Scotland.
With a fantastic 570 nominations received this year across the 17 award categories, many from patients and the public, they clearly demonstrate the level of appreciation and affection that people have for our health and social care services.
All of the nominations contained numerous examples of how individuals, teams and local health and social care systems are working together with patients, families and carers to deliver high-quality, dedicated and responsive services for the people of Scotland.
Each of these nominations are just a small example of the work done every single day by individuals in health and social care determined to do the very best they can – and succeeding.
I wholeheartedly congratulate and thank the winners of each of the award categories for the important contribution they continue to make to improve peoples’ lives.
