Remarkable T20 triumph good Oman for Scotland
UPDATE SCOTLAND last night overpowered Oman by seven wickets to clinch the T20 Quadrangular Series at the Al Amerat Stadium.
Mark Watt and debutant Adrian Neill both took three wickets as Oman were bowled out for 111 inside the final over of their innings.
Scotland claimed their target of 112, with Richie Berrington hitting the winning boundary.
It left them locked on two wins with Ireland and the Netherlands but Kyle Coetzer’s men claimed the Twenty20 title thanks to a superior net-run rate.
Scotland will now face Oman in a series of 50-over matches this week. BASKETBALL
Glasgow Rocks missed out on a place in the BBL Trophy Final as London City Royals romped to a 83-71 win in the second leg of their semi-final.
Rocks gave themselves hope when they went 54-45 ahead in the third quarter but a 14-0 Royals’ run killed off the tie.
It sealed a 169-137 aggregate win and spot in the showpiece with London Lions at the Emirates on March 10.
Rocks coach Darryl Wood said: “We had to shoot the ball well to stand a chance but did the opposite.”

Third time was a charm for Glasgow Clan as they recovered from back-to-back defeats by Belfast Giants to get 5-0 revenge yesterday.
The Scots powered to victory thanks to four second-period goals from Vaclav Stupka, Rasmus Bjerrum, Gerard Hanson and Scott Pitt.
Brendan Connolly ended the scoring with a fifth after 43 minutes.
