BETIS SHOCK RINO’S MILAN

-

REAL BETIS grabbed a shock win at AC Milan last night – turning up the heat on coach Rino Gattuso.

The Rossoneri entered the tie in desperate need of a boost following Sunday’s last-gasp 1-0 defeat to city rivals Inter in Serie A.

But Gattuso’s week went from bad to worse after goals from Antonio Sanabria and Giovani Lo Celso handed Milan their first defeat in Group F.

Sanabria silenced the San Siro when he bundled the ball home in 30 minutes and Lo Celso struck with a thumping long-range shot shortly after the break.

Patrick Cutrone replied with an 83rd-minute solo effort but it was too little too late for the Italians who had Samuel Castillejo red-carded for a heavy RESULTS & TABLES ROUND-UP challenge in time added on. Zurich led then came from behind to beat Leverkusen 3-2 at home and Zenit also fought back from a goal down to beat Bordeaux 2-1 in St Petersburg.

Two second-half goals enabled Fenerbahce to overcome a 2-0 deficit in a 2-2 draw at Anderlecht.

Sevilla thumped Akhisar 6-0 in Spain to go top of Group J on goal difference.

Roque Mesa, Pablo Sarabia, Luis Muriel, Quincy Promes and Gabriel Mercado all found the net as did the Turkish side’s keeper Milan Lukac with an own goal.

Standard Liege and Krasnador are also on six points after the Belgians won 2-1.
