Strictly leaver Susannah puts ordeal behind her

-

BY TOM BRYANT SUSANNAH Constantine vowed she will never dance again after becoming the first celebrity to leave the new season of Strictly Come Dancing last night. The What Not To Wear star and her partner Anton Du Beke lost out to Lee Ryan and Nadiya Bychkova after failing to impress judges with their foxtrot in the dance-off.

Asked if she would keep on dancing, she said: “You’ve got to know what you’re good at and I’m not good at dancing. So I’ll focus on the things that I am good at.”

Susannah, 56, said she was “more gutted for Anton than myself ”.

She added: “I’ve got two husbands now … Sten, the man I love and married, and I’ve now got Anton who is husband number two, so I’m a double winner.”

Susannah had earlier said she would prefer it if the judges were constructive in their criticism, after she was likened to a lamppost and told that her dance was a “complete disaster”.

She said: “If someone is going to give a throwaway comment, it would be quite nice to get some constructive advice afterwards. Otherwise it’s a bit pointless, isn’t it?”

She also felt she had improved in her second week, adding: “I feel I’m able to remember steps a bit more.”

Strictly was the most watched TV show on Saturday, with a peak of 9.5million viewers, an 8.4million average and a 46.8 per cent audience share.

It was almost double The X Factor’s viewing figures, which had an average 4.6million, peaking at 4.8million and 27.1 per cent audience share.

The remaining 14 couples on Strictly will take part in a movie special in next Saturday’s episode on BBC1 at 6.30pm.
