RIVER cruising has, typically speaking, never been popular with travellers between the ages of 21 and 45. There is, however, a new river cruise company who can dispel that myth.

U by Uniworld are a new sub-brand of Uniworld River Cruises aimed at young travellers who want to reap all the benefits of river cruising, with itineraries and ships suited to millennials.

U by Uniworld offer all the same benefits as a regular river cruise. Passengers can explore multiple destinations, while only unpacking once. The staff do all the hard work pulling together fascinating itineraries, so guests don’t have to spend hours researching. And, with all cruises, the service is second to none. But they do boast a modern twist. The two ships are modern and chic, described by Uniworld as being “part boutique hotel, part yacht, part resort”.

Facilities include a rooftop lounge, silent discos, coffee bar, mixology classes and farm-to-table cuisine.

The ships offer a hostel-vibe. Passengers can choose from spacious suites but low-cost solo cabins are available – as well as dorm-style share rates for those who want to share with like-minded travellers.
