KILMARNOCK will this week be offered £120,000 from Polish club Piast Gliwice for full-back Greg Taylor.

The Scotland Under-21 defender’s displays in the Toulon tournament have alerted a host of clubs with the Ekstraklasa side first to show their hand.

It indicates the meteoric rise of Taylor, 19, in recent months after cementing a first-team spot at Rugby Park last season with a string of standout performances.

Piast’s move will test the resolve of newly appointed boss Lee McCulloch as the fee, that comes with a 20 per cent sell-on clause, would provide much-needed funds for Killie’s rebuilding job.

Taylor’s reputation has been enhanced by his time on international duty in France where he was named fourth best player and included in the team of the Toulon Tournament. He also scored a superb winner to give Scot Gemmill’s side a 1-0 victory over Brazil.

Meanwhile, Killie have tied down another star from Toulon on an improved contract by handing Iain Wilson a new two-year deal.

The Scotland Under-20 midfielder broke into the Rugby Park first team in December and has gone on to make 20 appearances.

Wilson, 18, said: “Since my debut against Aberdeen I’ve gained invaluable experience in the first team. I’m looking forward to getting back training and keeping myself in Lee’s thoughts for the upcoming season.”

McCulloch added: “Iain has done tremendously well. He has taken in every piece of advice from myself and Peter Leven but also from his older team-mates.”
