MOONLIGHT TO LEAVE RIVALS IN THE SHADE
START dancing in the Moonlight on the second day of Glorious Goodwood.
WHITE MOONLIGHT (2.25) hasn’t had much racing for a six-year-old but she has really struck form this season.
She got the better of useful Heredia in a Musselburgh Listed contest in June and she backed it up with another personal best when successfully seeing off all-weather specialist Queen Aminatu on the Chelmsford sand.
The way she travels through her races suggests she will be up to this rise in class and she should get a nice prominent position early on around this tricky track.
With Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor (above) in good form, she must have a chance in this competitive Group 3 prize.

TAGABAWA (1.50) definitely has a race like this in him.
His two wins to date have both come on the all-weather and horses that like artificial surfaces tend to translate that form to Goodwood. His first turf start was better than it looked. He finished sixth in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot but he was probably second best on the day as he sat way too close to a red-hot early pace.
The widest draw and drop to 1m2f did for him at Newmarket last time and he should bounce back to his best on ground he is bred to like.
Have 2pts win at 15-2. PUROSANGUE (3.00) will appreciate the return to 5f in the Jaeger-Lecoultre Molecomb Stakes.
He looked very good when bolting up on his debut over this trip but he pulled much too hard when making the early running in the July Stakes over 6f at Newmarket last month.
It’s way too soon to be writing off Andrew Balding’s youngster.

BEENHAM (4.10) was second home of the stands’ side group in the Weatherbys Super Sprint.
Although she couldn’t lay a glove on top-class prospect Relief Rally at Newbury, it was a decent effort from an unhelpful draw.
She broke her duck over this course and distance in May when she had subsequent Superlative Stakes runner-up Haatem back in third.
The softer ground will also help. A good few runners won’t cope with the testing conditions but Rod Millman’s hope has no worries on that front.
