Man held in hunt for gimp suit suspect
Boris stays silent amid fresh outrage
SUIT A snap of the suspect A MAN in his 20s has been arrested after multiple reports of a person in a tight “gimp suit” accosting people late at night.
He was held yesterday on suspicion of indecency.
One woman in her 20s got a photo after a man wearing an all-in-one black rubber suit allegedly charged at her at 11.30pm in Claverham, Somerset, on Thursday.
She said he approached her while “grunting and breathing heavily”.
Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a man was being held in custody “on suspicion of indecency offences in Claverham and Yatton”.
Adding: “It follows 14 reports of a man approaching people in disguises, one of which was a black body suit.” DETERIORATING Building BORIS Johnson last night failed to condemn as racist an outburst by Donald Trump against four nonwhite lawmakers.
The US President had sparked outrage by saying the outspoken Congresswomen – three of whom were born in America – should “go back” to fix their “broken and crimeinfested” countries.
He said they “came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe”, adding: “If you hate our country... you can leave.”
His remarks were slammed by Theresa May. The Prime Minister’s spokesman said: “Her view is that the language used was completely unacceptable.” Lib Dem leadership contender Jo Swinson said: “Every political leader should call this out. Will you, Boris?”
But Tory leadership frontrunner Mr Johnson said nothing until last night, nearly 24 hours after Trump’s angry rant. In the final debate of the race to No10, he said: “If you’re the leader of a great multiracial, multicultural society you cannot use that kind of language about sending people back to where they come from.”
Asked why he would not call the comments racist, he said: “You can take from what I’ve said what I think about that remark.” He is reportedly poised to fly to Washington soon after moving into No10 as he sets his sights on a postBrexit trade deal with the US. Ms Swinson said: “[His] plan is to throw himself at the feet of a racist bully to get a trade deal. Britain deserves better.”
Johnson’s rival, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, called Trump’s rant “unacceptable”. Asked to admit it was racist, he said: “It is not going to help the situation to use that type of language about the President of the US.” Trump did not name the targets of his tweets but was believed to mean Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib and Somalian-born Ilhan Omar, who arrived in the US aged 12.
