Superstars in the Mix

-

THE BRIT AWARDS ITV, 7.30pm

THESE are the Glory Days for glossy girl band Little Mix, who lead the BRITs with three nominations.

We all rolled our eyes in 2011 when they seemed to be the latest gimmick, a band formed on The X Factor. But they have since pumped out one annoyingly catchy hit after another, with four hugely successful albums under their tiny, sparkly belts.

After missing out on two gongs last year, they will be hoping to take home Best British Group, Best British Single for Shout Out To My Ex and Best British Video for Hair.

Grime artist Skepta also has three nods, for British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act and British Album of the Year for Konnichiwa.

Everyone will just be hugely grateful that Adele isn’t there this time – she cleaned up in 2016 with four trophies.

Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis host the ceremony, live from London’s O2 – they have stepped in to replace Michael Buble, who dropped out to care for his three-year-old son after his cancer diagnosis.

Katy Perry is the biggest name on the bill tonight, making her first UK TV appearance in three years, while Robbie Williams – who will take home his 18th BRIT, the Icon award – will also perform along with Little Mix, Skepta, The 1975, Emeli Sandé, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars. David Bowie receives two posthumous nominations and Leonard Cohen one – his first ever – while sisters Beyoncé and Solange go head to head in the International Female Solo Artist category. Don’t miss this superstar lineup, with a bit of music industry rivalry to boot.
