JOSH EYES FRESH WARR WITH CARL

- BY CHRIS MCKENNA

JOSH WARRINGTON is open to a rematch with Carl Frampton – but only when the former two-weight world champion gets his hands on a title.

Warrington, 28, beat Frampton in a thriller last December to retain his IBF featherweight belt.

And he will make the third defence of that title against Sofiane Takoucht (both fighters together, right) at Leeds Arena tomorrow.

Warrington is desperate for a unification clash and a return outing with Frampton (top) will not be ruled out either.

Frampton is keen for the rematch, but out of respect is refusing to call out the champ in public.

However, Warrington’s dad and trainer Sean O’hagan said: “I’d go for that one. It’s business and we have to consider all options. I think Josh wants it for a unification fight.”

WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jnr was seriously injured in the early hours of yesterday after he was thrown from his Ferrari as it flipped “multiple times” in a high-speed crash.

The US fighter’s injuries are serious but understood not to be life-threatening. Spence Jnr, 29, was the only occupant of the car and he was taken into intensive care. His parents were at his bedside last night waiting on an update. Tyson Fury is set to announce today that he will take part in a WWE contest against Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia on October 31.

Fury has stepped into the professional wrestling world in a bid to further boost his profile in America.
