KING OF THE RINGERS

How Prince Louis is turning into Daddy’s double

- By Rebecca English Royal Correspondent

THE mop of brownish-blond hair, round cheeks and impish grin clearly run in the family.

For this previously unseen picture of Prince Louis shows him looking just like his brother george and father William at a similar age.

it was part of a series of photographs taken by his mother in April to mark his second birthday.

But while other snaps of Louis getting messy as he made rainbow hand-print cards as a thank you to the NHS were released officially at the time, this image was held back.

it was used on cards that were sent to thank well-wishers who wrote to Kensington Palace to congratulate the little prince on his birthday.

the photograph, taken by Kate at the family’s Anmer Hall, home in norfolk, shows Louis – in a blue checked tu shirt from sainsbury’s that cost only £12 – smiling for the camera before he started getting paint all over his hands and face. it was shared on instagram by the account @ Katsroyalletters, based in germany, along with a thank you note for a card for Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday in May which featured an already widely published image.

On the back was the message: ‘ the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appreciated your kind thought in writing to Prince Louis as you did on the occasion of his second birthday.

‘this was greatly appreciated by their Royal Highnesses who send you their best wishes.’

While Louis clearly takes after his father and his brother, he also seems to have one of his mother’s traits – her dark eyebrows.

Last week William and Kate, both 38, whisked their young family off to tresco in the isles of scilly, where they were seen cycling around the island.

Louis is said to have been ‘having a ball’ playing with his siblings at Anmer Hall during lockdown. neither george, seven, nor Charlotte apparently returned to school – thomas’s Battersea – when it reopened, so have been with Louis all summer.
