HAMILTON’S first Silverstone win and one of his finest (below). Qualifying fourth, he passed McLaren team-mate Heikki Kovalainen, Mark Webber and Kimi Raikkonen in the rain and ended 68 seconds ahead of the chasing pack — the largest margin of victory in any F1 race since 1995. He went on to win his first World Championship. 2014

STARTING sixth after mistakenly aborting his final qualifying lap, Hamilton was rapidly closing the gap on leader and Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg when the German’s gearbox failed. Hamilton won by a street, and spun his car in doughnuts to celebrate as the Silverstone fans chanted his name. 2015

A THIRD Silverstone win and first from pole. Hamilton was passed by Williams duo Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas on the first corner but a well-timed pit-stop had him back in the lead, and Hamilton’s brilliant decision to change from dry to wet tyres nine laps from the end paid off in style as the heavy downpour followed and he lifted the trophy again. 2016

THREE in a row for Hamilton, who again started on pole in a race that began under a safety car. Hamilton opened up a huge advantage as soon as it was withdrawn and never looked back. He closed the gap to championship leader Rosberg to just a point, but Rosberg went on to win the title. 2017

A FIFTH Silverstone triumph put Hamilton level with Jim Clark and Alain Prost as he achieved a grand slam of race win, pole position, leading every lap and setting the fastest lap. It proved crucial in the championship race too, as he closed the gap on rival Sebastian Vettel to one point. Five race wins later, a fifth title was his. 2019

TWO years later, he took the Silverstone win record outright in front of a record crowd of 141,000 (below), leaving team-mate Bottas trailing 25 seconds in his wake and setting a new lap record on his final lap. It was his seventh win from the first 10 races of the season, putting him 37 points clear. He went on to win the title by 87 points. 2020

HAMILTON appeared to be cruising to a seventh Silverstone triumph, but ended up crawling home on three wheels after a dramatic final lap in which he suffered a puncture to his front-left tyre. Max Verstappen chased him to the line in his Red Bull but he ended up getting home by five seconds, and the Dutchman would have caught him had he not pitted just before in a bid to get the fastest lap.
