He wore leopard print socks, which made me smile

DATING PAST?

I’ve had two serious relationships. one was during university and lasted just less than a year, then I was with my most recent boyfriend for 18 months. We broke up two years ago and, since then, I’ve gone on a lot of bad dates. one I won’t forget involved my date removing his teeth to eat dinner!

Going on a blind date seems like fun — what do I have to lose?

PRE-DATE NERVES?

that’S not me. I always have a good time and ensure that dates are fun. I’m an optimistic person and look at dates as opportunities.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

HENRY was wearing leopard-print socks, which made me smile. he’s a good-looking guy, but, unfortunately, he’s not my type.

there was no romantic chemistry between us, and I could sense that almost immediately. I’m drawn to guys with a rugby player’s physique, and henry is rather slim. I did like that he was a gentleman, though. he made sure I ordered first, chose a bottle of red wine and topped up my glass throughout our meal.

EASY TO TALK TO?

We DIDN’T stop talking! We met at 6pm at emilia’s Crafted pasta, in london’s St Katharine docks, and the date lasted for four hours. after the meal, we went for a drink.

henry is so easy to talk to. We like the same types of comedy — he took a stand-up comedy module at university — and are both massive fans of ricky Gervais, but share a dislike of russell howard. henry even said the way I spoke reminded him of the comedian roisin Conaty. I’ll take that as a compliment!

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

NONE. I’m not easily embarrassed.

DID SPARKS FLY?

WE GOT along, but as friends, and I wouldn’t keep in touch with someone just because we got on well.

My life is hectic. I’m studying for a midwifery degree and work parttime in a pub. I would like to find someone who understands my commitments and helps extend my happiness — not create it.

DID YOU KISS?

WHEN we parted ways, we kissed on the cheek. It felt like a natural way to end a lovely evening. It was a good date — I’ve had far worse.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I SUSPECT he didn’t fancy me, either. We clicked, but not on a romantic level.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY LIKE HIM?

I CAN’T imagine anyone disliking henry. he’s a really good person — and funny!
