Camilla does a Marilyn . . . and Pippa totters on

- By Eliza Scarborough

THE young royals may have been at the heart of events but the Duchess of Cornwall almost stole the show.

A gust of wind meant Camilla came close to showing the crowd rather more than she might have hoped in a ‘Marilyn moment’.

Her pale blue £ 40 Anna Valentine dress blew up to show her legs – much to the amusement of Prince Charles, who was seen grinning next to his wife.

Camilla soon managed to cover her modesty with one hand and hold on to her hat – a wide brim creation by milliner-to-the-stars Philip Treacy – with the other.

Pippa Middleton also had some wardrobe difficulties, tottering up the church’s uneven stone steps in towering £ 65 heels by designer Charlotte Olympia. Miss Middleton was almost identically dressed to her sister Kate in a demure cream outfit, with her hair swept back into a matching low chignon. She opted for a figure- hugging bespoke dress by Emilia Wickstead, which would cost around £1,300, and a £1,050 Jane Taylor hat.

Her mother Carole was elegant in a cream coat dress, costing around £1,500, by Catherine Walker, who dressed her for both the royal wedding and Prince George’s christening. Her choice may also be seen as a nod to Princess Diana, who wore more than 1,000 outfits by the designer. She completed the look with Emmy suede shoes, £365, and a clutch bag, £350.

The Queen was pretty in pink in a jacquard coat and matching hat, both designed by her long-serving couturier Angela Kelly. Her Majesty’s favourite pearl necklace added embellishment to the outfit.
