Cono Sur Viognier 2013, £5 (normally £7.50), Asda THIS white is all apricots and peachy flavours, with a little kick of alcohol and spice. Grab this Chile Viognier while it’s a fiver — a brilliant offer.
ROSÉ
MIP* Classic Rosé 2013, £11.95, www.leaandsandeman.co.uk MIP stands for made in Provence, and it’s utterly delicious; dangerously moreish, too. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, this is dry, deceptively pale, and packs a lot of redcurrant and citrus flavours into the glass.
FOOD PAIRING: A big plate of grilled prawns.
RED
M Signature Pinotage 2013, £6.99, Morrisons PINOTAGE, a cross of Pinot Noir and the Cinsault grape, has become South Africa’s red wine flag bearer. This is loaded with bramble fruits and spice, with a whiff of chocolate. Be warned: it’s 14 ½ per cent.
FOOD PAIRING: Anything from the barbecue.

Coconova Brut, £8.99, M&S FANCY a Brazilian? A light, crisp blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Verdejo grapes, and a refreshingly appropriate change to Prosecco, with lovely nectarine and melon flavours.
