volcano at speeds of up to 100mph before heading down into an active one, known to the locals as the ‘mouth of hell’, to get a glimpse of bubbling lava. Come on, Barney – give your poor old dad a break!

In this week’s visit to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, we meet patient Peta, 20, who was knocked unconsciou­s when she came off her motorbike. Her mum Nikki talks about the challenges she faced raising her daughter before Peta was diagnosed with Asperger’s and ADHD. Callum is just 21 and, as a result of a previous stabbing, has arrived at A&E with a badly prolapsed stoma. And Libby, 44, reveals how her life changed when her husband – a profession­al footballer – embarked on a new career. She’s come in to Queen’s after being hit in the face with a stick while playing hockey.
