THE Prince of Wales says there is no time to waste in tackling the ecology crisis.

Opening the Commonwealth Science Conference online the future king, 72, said innovation was needed in every industry.

Calling 2021 a critical year for the environment, he added: “Will we make the most of this opportunity to turn talk into practical action?”

WITH Prince Harry’s role as England Rugby Union patron now over, mischievous types suggest his sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, pictured, would be a very welcome successor.

To be fair, Kate has been spotted eagerly urging the England team on from the Twickenham stands in the past. There is, however, a significant stumbling block unlikely to be overcome: namely husbandWilliam being longtime patron of England’s rugby rivals Wales.

As a result, his wife has been required to diplomatically adopt theWelsh cause in recent years. The two teams meet this Saturday in Cardiff...

NOW that Sir Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell are the happy owners of a rescue dog called Rose, might there be an upcoming song composed in the pooch’s honour?

The former Beatle famously wrote 1968 track Martha My Dear in honour of his beloved Old English Sheepdog of the same name – but songwriting partner John Lennon wasn’t impressed.

Later asked about Sir Paul’s effort, a visibly exasperated John would only remark: “Enough said.”

Having reportedly had a frosty working relationship with Dame Joan, the Blake Carrington actor, pictured, who died aged 92 in 2010, recounted: “We finished filming at about one in the morning...when I got home, I hopped into bed. The next morning, I looked in the mirror and saw there was lipstick on my mouth and on my shirt. Joan Collins used a lot of lipstick, a tremendous amount of lipstick.” Forsythe cheekily explained to wife Julie: “Want to know how I got it? Joan Collins.”

AS Ralph Fiennes resorts to publicly lobbying to remain in the role of James Bond’s boss M after Daniel Craig’s replacement arrives, I’m reminded his predecessor struggled to come to terms with being killed off from the franchise.

After being informed by Bond bosses of her M character’s fate in 2012’s Skyfall, Dame Judi Dench was in tears...

PRESENTER, gardener and Daily Express columnist Alan Titchmarsh reveals even he can occasionally have his frustrations growing vegetables.
