LIVERPOOL KLOPP: LET’S GO AGAIN

ZELJKO BUVAC is the shock candidate to replace Arsene Wenger after reports in his native Bosnia that the Liverpool assistant’s move to the Emirates is a “done deal”.

Arsenal refused to comment on the speculation yesterday and say they are focused on a Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid tomorrow.

The club had seemed in little rush to appoint a successor to Wenger, so the timing seemed curious.

But with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and chief executive Ivan Gazidis keeping their cards close to their chests, there are plenty of reasons to take the surprising suggestion seriously.

The reason behind Buvac’s shock split from Jurgen Klopp just days before their Champions League semi-final is a closely guarded secret on Merseyside, with Liverpool insisting that the assistant has merely left the club until the end of the season for JURGEN KLOPP has called on Liverpool to seize the moment tonight as they look to repeat the feat of 2005 and go from qualifiers to Champions League winners.

Liverpool lead Roma 5-2 from the first leg of this semi-final in a campaign that began with a play-off qualifier against 1899 Hoffenheim in August.

Real Madrid await in the final and Klopp said: “If this team goes to the final it would be an outstanding achievement already. But it is not the prize we want.

“If you go to a final then of course you have to think a little bit bigger, but it would be something we could not have expected at the start of the season when we were not even qualified.”

Liverpool last lifted the Champions League trophy in 2005, when the Miracle of Istanbul capped a season that kicked off in the third round of qualifiers.

Klopp also paid tribute to Roma, who trained yesterday in T-shirts emblazoned
