You never know what is going on in his head

-

director Michael Zorc said of him: “Pierre’s one of the fastest players who has ever played. I’ve never seen a player as explosive.”

Aubameyang was born in Laval in France but opted to play international football for Gabon, the country his father Pierre captained.

Brothers Catilina and Willy also play, with the latter having a spell in Scotland with Kilmarnock.

Autograph hunters can expect a positive answer if they wait patiently outside Arsenal’s London Colney training base as Aubameyang makes time for the fans.

“I’m often asked if it’s not annoying to do so many photos and sign so many autographs,” he said. “No, I’ve always dreamed of that, so I’m not going to complain. When I was little, I’d have loved to have taken a photo with a star.”

Manager Arsene Wenger, left, certainly has plenty of work in store as he will need to keep the exuberant Aubameyang in line and make sure his ego does not get too much for the dressing room.

But the Emirates could well be in line for a change of beat in more ways than one.

Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic said of his larger-than-life team-mate: “He creates the music in the dressing room. He is the DJ.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping they can dance along to Aubameyang’s rhythm on the pitch too.
