For sale: Sir Tom’s £6m LA pad
SINGING legend Sir Tom Jones is putting his Los Angeles mansion up for sale for more than £6million.
The Welsh icon’s home has perfectly manicured lawns, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Costing a mere £2.1million in 1998, the price tag has now risen to £6.45million.
The property sits in a half-acre of desirable land on the Mulholland Estates in Beverly Hills, which boasts spectacular views of LA.
Sir Tom, 76, who is a judge on TV show The Voice and has enjoyed a string of pop hits over six decades, chose the ultimate in celebrity glamour for the plush interior – leopard print carpets, lamps, chairs and rugs.
The foyer has a curved staircase and high ceilings, while the villa itself offers a range of animal, tribal and safari inspired statues – culminating in life-size sculptures of leopards in a bedroom with its own gold four-poster.
But it is not just the interior features that would impress a potential buyer.
Outside a spectacular fountain features statues of nymphs, and there is also a swimming pool, all surrounded by towering hedges to ensure privacy.
This is not the first time that Sir Tom has put a property on the market. Last year, Socknersh Manor, in Burwash, East Sussex, was put up for sale for £4.75million. He co-owned the property with fellow singer Engelbert Humperdinck in the 1960s. However, although it was used for parties, neither ever lived in the Grade II listed building. Sir Tom’s wife of 59 years, Linda, died a year ago.
