So cute... Princess Charlotte is one today
WHETHER pretty in pink or bonny in blue, Princess Charlotte always shines for her mother’s camera.
These images of the royal toddler are the latest examples of the Duchess of Cambridge’s photographic prowess.
William and Kate, a keen amateur photographer, released the intimate snaps to mark their daughter’s first birthday today.
They provide an affectionate portrait of the youngest Cambridge playing at the family home, Anmer Hall, on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Taken last month, they also show Charlotte’s striking resemblance to her brother, Prince George, two.
Wills, 33, and 34-year-old Kate are clearly delighted with how their younger child has grown. “The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do,” an aide said.
Kate loves taking photographs of the family and her favourite camera is thought to be a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. She used it for a series of snaps of Charlotte with George, and in shots of their daughter released when she was six months old.
Although the Princess was last seen in public at her christening in Sandringham last July, her parents have released pictures of her at regular intervals.
The most recent set before her birthday were taken with the Queen, her great-grandmother, to mark the monarch’s 90th birthday.
In one of the new images, Charlotte’s eyes stare curiously at the camera as she clambers on a wicker chair.
Dressed in a sky blue floral dress with matching tights, cream cardigan, navy shoes and a blue bow in her hair, she appears totally relaxed.
Another shows her in the same outfit, standing up, leaning on a wooden chair, looking away from the camera.
A third photo shows her in a pink flowery dress, with matching cardigan, tights and hair bow.
Here, mum Kate has captured her sitting on the floor, gazing up rather regally, to her left.
The fourth image from the set shows her in the garden, pushing her baby walker, full of alphabet blocks.
Wearing her pink outfit but with the navy shoes, she wears a happy but determined expression on her face.
Charlotte’s clothes highlight her parents’ taste for traditional floral designs. In her previous public appearances, Charlotte has been kitted out in dresses by Spanish childrenswear label M&H.
Inevitably, fashionistas have begun talking about the “Princess Charlotte effect” of couples wanting their own daughters to emulate the royal youngster.
A fifth of parents see Charlotte as a style icon and experts believe she will generate £3billion for the UK economy in her lifetime.
SHE IS one year old today and Princess Charlotte has given the country a lovely present on her birthday. The pictures taken by her mother are so delightful, they will put a smile on every face. Have a lovely day, little Princess – you have certainly made ours.
