Jackson could be on Robins’ transfer radar

COVENTRY City could “make a move” for Ipswich Town striker Kayden Jackson as Mark Robins continues preparations for the Championship season.

The Sky Blues boss has already been busy in the transfer market, but has now been linked with the Tractor Boys front man.

Jackson signed for Ipswich from Accrington Stanley in 2018 in a £1.7m move, penning a three-year deal, and netted 11 goals in 36 appearances last season.

He has 12 months left to run on his current contract, with the club having the option to extend it for a further year.

Talks about an extension are believed to have been ongoing since the beginning of the year.

But it is rumoured negotiations have not reached a satisfactory conclusion, with Jackson understood to have turned down Ipswich’s latest offer.

And as a result, it is understood Championship sides, including Coventry, are keen on snapping him up.

Jackson finished as the Tractor Boys’ joint-top scorer in their curtailed League One campaign.

He has previously played for Swindon Town, Tamworth, Wrexham, Barnsley and Grimsby Town.

Meanwhile, City-linked Fabio Kaufmann has signed for German club Eintracht Braunschweig.

The Sky Blues had reportedly shown “great interest” in the winger, after his fine form had helped Wurzburg Kickers clinch promotion from the German third tier.

But a number of clubs were said to have been keen on the 27-yearold, and it is the Lions who have won the race for his signature.

Kaufmann made the move as a free agent and has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

“I am very happy to play for a club with such a long tradition in the future,” he told the club’s website.

“Eintracht is rooted in the region, but has drawn attention to itself across Germany in recent years.

“I am ready to take the next step and am really looking forward to the new tasks.”
