- > MADELEINE CLARK REPORT:

TWO children were at home when a lit firework was posted through the letterbox of their Coventry home - with the police warning it could have had “deadly consequences”.

Police and paramedics were called to the home on Doncaster Close, in Wood End, on the evening of October 23.

A woman and two children had to be checked over by West Midlands Ambulance Service after the scary incident.

Fortunately, nobody was injured and no damage was caused.

They said: “We were called at 7.13pm and had one ambulance in attendance.

“We assessed three patients at the scene including one woman and two children.

“Thankfully they did not need hospital treatment and were discharged at the scene.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Police are investigating after a firework was put through a letterbox in Doncaster Close, Wood End, Coventry, at around 7.15pm yesterday (23 October). Nobody was injured and no damage was caused.
