‘IF YOUR FEET ARE GOOD, LIFE IS GOOD’

-

ORTHOSOLE IS A newer name on the market, but it has a unique ‘customisable’ approach not offered by the other brands.

The company was founded by former Essex, Lancashire and England cricketer Ronnie Irani (right), who says his playing career was transformed by good insoles.

“I suffered a lot of foot pain as a player, so I was sent to a specialist in Germany who fitted me with custommade insoles, and the difference they made was massive,” says Ronnie.

“But they cost upwards of £600, so I said to the designer, ‘These are great, but I’m a cricketer, not a footballer. How can we make an insole this good that’s affordable for everyone?’

“We worked together for a number of years and OrthoSole is the result.”

The USP is that the insoles are customisable, thanks to a range of swappable shock-absorbing pads that are included with each insole. Once you’ve chosen your insole (Thin, Lite or Max Cushion) you then choose which support pad suits you best – light, medium or firm – and fit it to the insole.

“You might even find that one foot suits one type of pad, and the other foot a different one,” explains Ronnie.

“With standard insoles, both footpads will be identical. But your feet aren’t identical, so it makes sense to have the flexibility to treat each foot separately.”

OrthoSole fans include Alan Shearer, Chris Evans, Charlotte Jackson and Harry Redknapp (who wore them every day during his winning stint in the I’m a Celebrity jungle and claims they made the ordeal a lot more bearable.)

“We start from the principle that all foot and leg pain starts from the foot,” says Ronnie. “If your feet are good, life is good.” Prices range from £35 to £40. Find out more at orthosole.com
