Auto-remove junk from your Recycle Bin

What you need: Auto Recycle Bin; Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 Time required: 10 minutes

Anyfiles you delete go to your Recycle Bin but still take up storage space until you empty it. New free program Auto Recycle Bin lets you automate this process by setting three parameters. You can set to empty

it after a set number of days, or when a set storage limit (in MBS) or percentage of your PC’S total storage space has been reached. The program will automatically empty your bin as soon as any of these parameter are met.

STEP 1

To install the program, go to www.snipca.com/27416, click the green setup file link 1 , run the downloaded setup file 2 and follow the prompts (it doesn’t contain any PUPS).

STEP 2

Before setting your parameters, you need to choose how you want to run the program. Choosing Manually 1 requires you to open the program then click the ‘Process all’ button (see screenshot in Step 3). Selecting ‘On Windows OS startup’ 2 deletes items in your bin whenever you switch on your PC. We recommend the ‘Periodically on the background’ option 3 because this causes you and your system’s resources the least disruption. Next, click the ‘Save settings’ button 4 .

STEP 3

Now you need to choose your parameters. Set how many days you want to retain items in your Recycle Bin before the program automatically empties it 1 . Next, set your maximum Recycle Bin size in MBS 2 or as a percentage of your PC’S total storage 3 . Click ‘Process all’ 4 then close the program to confirm your changes. Auto Recycle Bin will automatically empty your bin as soon as the number of days elapses or the space criteria are reached (whichever occurs first).
