After debuting swollen lips, insiders reveal Chantelle Houghton is suffering a crisis of confidence on her mission to find love

“Changing my looks will help me find a man”

She admitted she S was previously “addicted to lip fillers” in 2012, but that wasn’t enough to deter Chantelle Houghton fromplumping up her pout again. Two weeks ago she shared a video on Facebook of her having lip filler injected at former TOWIE star Amy Childs’ beautyy salon in Essex, saying it was one of her “regular top-ups.”

Then, two days later, Chantelle, 32, unveiled the dramatic effects of the filler when she was snapped in London looking puffy-faced with significantly swollen lips, and what appeared to be needle pricks in-between her eyebrows.

DAMAGING HER LOOKS

Insiders say the single mum’s friends worry she’s now obsessed with altering her looks in a bid to attract a new man.

And to add to her close pals’ fears, top plastic surgeon Mark Ho-asjoe – who has previously operated on Chantelle – believes the star may have had far more than just her lips enhanced and is running the risk of damaging her looks forever.

Mark says: “It looks to me Chantelle has likely had fillers injected into her lips, chin and forehead – you can see she’s fuller in the face in those areas. I believe she may have had some Botox between the eyes too. If Chantelle continues to have this amount of filler injected into her lips they will never go back to normal.”

In January, former CBB star Chantelle – who boosted her bust from a B-cup to an Ff-cup in 2008 – had her breast implants removed and vowed she’d never have surgery again, saying: “The only time I will ever be in hospital now is for health reasons, I will never go under the knife for vanity ever again.”

But pals say she’s now using cosmetic treatments to help her meet Mr Right.

TRICKY LOVE LIFE

A source says: “Chantelle is having lip filler top-ups every three weeks instead of the recommended two months. She’s said she’ll have even more procedures to help her find a man.”

Chantelle’s confidence has been gradually chipped away following a string of broken relationships. After her highprofile 10-month marriage to singer and CBB housemate Samuel Preston ended in 2007, Chantelle admitted it had left her “devastated.” She then had a relationship with TV presenter Rav Wilding before getting engaged to Katie Price’s ex-husband Alex Reid – who she has four-year-old daughter Dolly with – but they split in 2012. She went on to have flings with banker Nick Hogg and club owner Ben Tavakoli.

LOW SELF-ESTEEM

Chantelle also suffered from bulimia following her split from Preston and the 5ft 7 star’s weight plummeted to 8st. She has yo-yoed between a size 10 and a 16 ever since. While at her heaviest, she later claimed: “Men wouldn’t go near me when I looked like a beached whale.”

A source says: “Chantelle’s confidence has taken several knocks over the past few years, she’s battled body insecurities and broken relationships. She’d love a man to take care of her. She’s also pining to give Dolly a brother or sister.

“Pals have tried to convince her these procedures aren’t the path to finding her dreamman and family, but Chantelle has convinced herself that it’s the only way to boost her confidence and get her happy ever after.”
