THREE ON TROT FOR PORT MEN

AFTER two successive 6-1 wins in the Llanelli Snooker League, Burry Port Legion made it three victories on the trot with a 5-2 success away to Llandybie Social.

James White, Keri Phillips, Peter Harper and Dean Thomas (27 clearance) won, and Lyndsey Pugh and Peter Howatson replied.

Matchroom Reds also maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-2 win at Gorseinon Workmen’s thanks to P. Williams, R. Evans, J. Thomas and B. Newcombe. Mike Dodd and Mike Davies won for the Brighton Road cuemen.

Gavin Quinnell, M. Rees and D. Bowen gave Llanelli Cons A their first win, a 4-3 aggregate success against Matchroom Whites. T.

Twigg, A. Edwards and D. Roberts won for the Whites.

Luke Lloyd, Peter Shoulder and C. Lloyd won for Llanesco, who slipped to a third successive loss, 4-3 to Morfa Social, whose winning trio were G. Lewis, N. Hughes and Andew Hatto.

Ponthenri Social’s maiden win came with a 4-3 victory over Pontyberem Workmen’s following wins from Jeff Howells, Mark Regola and Nigel Lewis. C. Rees, E. Bowen and Karl Goble replied.

Peter Kelly, L. Jones, C. Howells and J. Ellis (45 break) gave Reading Room Blues a 5-2 win at Snooker World Whites, Ben Thomas and Jamie Gimblett replying for the Ammanford side.

J. Bradley was Upper Tumble

Blues’ solitary point-earner in a 6-1 reversal at Trimsaran A. Colin Foreman (54 break), J. Tudor, L. Lloyd, M. Foreman and L. Holland all won for the home side.

In division two, Luke Williams and Adam Fussell won but their side, Bryn & Trallwm B, lost a third straight match, 5-2 to Llandybie Social B, whose winners were Steve Pearson, Ian Matthews, Brian Jenn and Peter Watkins.

J. Edwards, L. Collins and K. Gronow gave the Gremlin Club an aggregate 4-3 win at Reading Room Reds. Phil Payne, Chris Hurley and Tony Rawlings struck for the Burry Port side.

Callum Fuge and Linden Cox were on the ball for Snooker World Blues in a 5-2 defeat at CGMD.

Brian Chappel, James Varney, Alun Rees and Paul Landek won for the Glanaman side.

Mark Aberstraw, David Gabe and Gethin Daniel edged a 4-3 win for Pontarddul­ais Cons B against Llandybie RFC, whose winning trio were Dylan Jones, S. Wright and M. Hughes.

There was a welcome first win for Upper Tumble Reds, 5-2 against Tycroes RFC, courtesy of Nigel Beynon, A. Griffiths, Mike Sainty and N. Allison. Stu Williams and Steve Ruck hit back.

And Matchroom Blacks made it three wins out of three with a 6-1 success against a man-short Bryn A thanks to Nathan Brain, Ryan Maides, Tom Williams and Dean Shoulder. M. Lyons won for Bryn.
