A special opening ceremony was held to officially open the new ward, attended by representa­tives of the Ysbyty Bryn Beryl League of Friends and members of the community.

Staff also marked the NHS Big Tea for Awyr Las, the North Wales NHS Charity, by holding a tea party and cake sale to raise funds for the hospital.

Two generous donations were also received by Harlech Frozen Foods who kindly donated a £500 cheque and Howys Bryn Williams who raised £900 towards the hospital after completing the 14 Peaks Challenge. DEUDRAETH CAMERA CLUB: In support of the Heart of Gwynedd Art Festival, Deudraeth Camera Club is holding a photograph­ic exhibition in Holy Trinity Church, Penrhyndeu­draeth until August 3. Opening times from 9.30am-3.30pm.In conjunctio­n with the exhibition, free portrait sessions are being held at the church hall of Holy Trinity church, Penrhyndeu­draeth on July 30-August 1 (Tuesda-Thursday) at 11am-3pm. Portrait sitters will be asked to leave their e-mail address and the image(s) will be e-mailed to them free of charge. NANTLLE VALE DOG TRAINING CLUB: Is a Kennel Club registered dog training club. The classes are held in the Memorial Hall Market Place. It runs puppy classes, obedience training, ring craft and a fun agility session. It also offers training for The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme `Puppy’ `Bronze’ Silver’ and `Gold’.
