Peace is better than war

OVER thousands of years, the human species has been seen as a ‘herd animal,’ whose mind has developed a mutual concern, which means that I recognise that my best interest is served by sincerely caring for the best interest of all other people. Peace is better than war.

The present culture of Conservative economics has deliberately moved away from those standards. Tories have moved to the standards of the advertising industry or the public relations agency, commercial businesses paid to twist the truth as a means to make a profit, as their reason for existing. Conservative politicians claim to be nationalist, serving the whole nation, while waging war on the poorest citizens. Deliberate deceit is an effective tool for them.

An astonishing reaction to the pandemic, has been this insane interpretation of ‘Freedom.’ ‘Because I want to do what I want to be free to do, I do not care that I am knowingly spreading a disease, which might later infect my mother and myself.’ This is the selfishness of a three-year-old child, combined with stupidity which does not comprehend scientific reality.

The huge disruption of the pandemic has made UK future ownership of homes a huge problem, so some commentators have suggested that the ownership of a ‘second home,’ at the expense of others being homeless, should be controlled and limited. There are areas and villages with no children and no schools, because of second ‘holiday homes.’

This produced uproar from Conservative supporters, that, ‘I demand the freedom to purchase a second home since I have the money.’ That is the core of Conservatism, hostile indifference to the good of the nation.
