AThis will be our first live show in NINE MONTHS thanks to National Lottery funding and we cannot wait to safely fling open our doors for festive fund
Hippodrome statement
SOCIALLY distanced pantomime has been announced to take place at Bristol’s biggest theatre this Christmas.
In September, Bristol Hippodrome confirmed its planned production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, starring John Barrowman, would not be able to go ahead this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement was met with widespread sadness – for many the annual panto is a highlight of the festive season.
But now there is better news for panto fans, as the city centre theatre has revealed plans for a separate panto.
Between December 18 and January 10 the venue will stage Robin Hood thanks to funding from the National Lottery.
The news was shared on Bristol Hippodrome’s social media pages in a statement that reads: “We are overjoyed to announce a brand new, socially-distanced Christmas pantomime production of Robin
Hood is coming to the Hippodrome from Friday 18 December 2020 to Sunday 10 January 2021!”
It goes on: “This will be our first live show in NINE MONTHS thanks to National Lottery funding and we cannot wait to safely fling open our doors for festive fun.
“With star casting and showstopping songs, Robin Hood will be
the perfect 2020 Christmas celebration – and we’d love for you to join us!”
Presale tickets will be available for ATG TheatreCard members and anyone who originally purchased tickets to Bristol Hippodrome’s 2020-21 pantomime from 10am on Wednesday, November 4.
General sales will open at 10am on Friday, November 6.
More information about the “one-of-a-kind show” including casting and safety details will be announced by the theatre soon, including casting and full safety information.
