Man jailed after sending indecent image to police

-

A MAN who sent a photo of his penis to police has been jailed.

Terry Peake sent the lewd photograph when encouraging who he thought was a 13-year-old girl into sexual activity online.

But it turned out he was actually having speaking to an undercover police officer and he was identified and arrested.

Peake, 27, of Lonsdale Avenue in Weston-super-Mare, admitted a plethora of offences at Bristol Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), attempting to engage a girl in sexual activity and attempted sexual communication with a child.

Judge Martin Picton jailed him for 20 months, with an additional fiveyear sentence of which he will serve two years’ custody and be on extended licence for three years.

Giles Nelson, prosecuting, said charges related to Peake posing as a boy aged 14 when chatting with “Maisie aged 13” online.

The court heard he encouraged her to perform sex acts and give sexual instruction to her eightyear-old “sister”. Peake not only sent “Maisie” a photo of his private parts but a picture of his face as well. Undercover police who had been chatting with him arranged for his arrest and he admitted he had engaged in the activity for his sexual gratification and he needed help.

Peake also pleaded guilty to a set of offences which occurred in 2017.

These involved four charges of attempting to incite a child into sexual activity, two of attempted sexual communication with a child, six of making indecent photos of a child and two of breaching a SOPO.

Judge Martin Picton told the court: “He clearly has an obsession he struggles to control.”
