FOR 16 years Frank Warren has held an annual charity event to raise money for DEBRA UK. The charity supports sufferers of Epidermolysis bullosa, a potentially fatal skin condition causing constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering.
This year’s event will be a champagne reception, a black tie dinner and a night of amateur boxing at The Brewery in London. The 2021 Inter Services Individual boxing championships with the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force competing. The winners of the five bouts contested will join a further 20 boxers who have already qualified to represent the UKAFBA in the pre quarter finals of the National Amateur Boxing Championships. Nathan Pearce, Operations Officer, Army and UK Armed Forces Boxing Associations said, “Boxing suffered the longest layoff of all the sports during lockdown, and it is just so good to be back in and around competitive boxing again. Many thanks to the DEBRA charity for inviting us once again to demonstrate our pride and passion to such a great and appreciative audience. We are sure everyone that attends will have a great night.”
Frank Warren said, “I am delighted to be hosting this incredible evening. As Vice President of the charity, I have been supporting this event for more than 15 years and it is a fantastic evening. If you like great food, great entertainment and watching some of the best military boxers this country has to offer then this is the night for you. Come and join us and support a really worthwhile cause in the process.”
DEBRA funds vital research into treatments and a cure, as well as specialist healthcare, international best practice and lifelong care and support for those with the condition.
