Black Country Bugle

Your seasonal stories and festive memories

-

IT LOOKS as if Christmas may be quite different this year with many facing a festive season like no other before. So while you are hanging up your stocking on the wall, now is the time to look back at those golden Christmases of days gone by, spread the good cheer with Bugle readers and make sure we have a merry Christmas come what may.

We want to share your memories of Christmas of old. What was your Christmas like as a child? Was there snow falling, or chestnuts roasting on an open fire? Tell us how you prepared for Christmas – did you make your own decorations and did you have a tree?

Family

Did you spend Christmas at home or was it all round to grandma’s for a fullon festive family gathering? Did you ever have to spend a Christmas far from home and how did you stay in touch with loved ones?

Happy or sad, we want your Christmas stories.

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? In fact, do you remember when there was last a white Christmas here in the Black Country?

Have you a funny family story that you’ll forever associate with Christmas? Or do you have a family tradition that no one else does – but it wouldn’t be Christmas if you didn’t do it?

Does Christmas bring to mind a particular loved one or friend from long ago – tell us about them.

Was there one magical Christmas that stands out in your memory? Why

was it so special so that you’ll never forget it?

We’ll publish your festive tales for readers to enjoy in the weeks running up to Christmas.

Please email your stories and any pictures you have to editor@blackcountry bugle.co.uk or post them to us at the Black Country Bugle, Dudley Archives Centre, Tipton Road, Dudley, DY1 4SQ.
