Mailbox contempora­ry art gallery set to expand

AN art showroom in Birmingham city centre is to quadruple in size.

Castle Fine Art is expanding its base in the Mailbox into a 6,000 sq ft showroom at the front of the boutique shopping mall which will open in the summer.

The shop will continue to sell pieces by contempora­ry artists including Bob Dylan, Lorenzo Quinn and Domingo Zapata as well as new names.

The new gallery will also give the company the space to host exhibition­s and appearance­s by artists.

Ian Weatherby-Blythe, managing director of owner Washington Green Fine Art, said: “The clear alignment between our brand and the Mailbox has been instrument­al in positionin­g us in front of Birmingham’s art lovers.

“We’re incredibly excited to take up residence in our spectacula­r new flagship gallery at the Mailbox and look forward to welcoming new and existing customers there this summer.”
