» This evening, again conducted by chief conductor Kirill Karabits, will feature three different pieces for the audience to enjoy, including Stravinsky’s beguiling Pulcinella Suite, written for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, Sir William Walton’s reflective and beautiful Cello Concerto performed by the BSO’S artist-in-residence this season Johannes Moser, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.1.

» The first of two BSO concerts at The Forum in Bath, this early February evening’s offering will include Mendelssohn’s stirring Hebrides Overture, inspired by a visit to Fingal’s Cave, Brahms’ Violin Concerto, which was brought to a wider audience by its use on the soundtrack to the film There Will Be Blood, and Dvorak’s optimistic Symphony No.8.
» Internationally renowned violinist Ning Feng will be the guest star with Michael Seal conducting.

» Dutch pianist Ronald Brautigam will be at the centre of this concert, with his countryman Kees Bakels conducting. Two pieces by Mozart, his dramatic Symphony No.26 and the uplifting Piano Concerto No.21, will feature alongside Tchaikovsky’s fateful Symphony No.4.

» The music of the two greatest movie score composers of all time – Hans Zimmer and John Williams – will be played under the guidance of conductor Pete Harrison. Zimmer’s scores for films like Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean are some of the few soundtracks that can stand comparison with Williams’ triumphs for films such as Harry Potter, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park and many more.

» The series will conclude with a fourpiece concert at St George’s Bristol, with the talent of Johannes Moser once again on display as both cellist and director. Grieg’s 19th-century classic Holberg Suite, Haydn’s ‘lost’ Cello Concerto in C, Mozart’s famous Symphony No.29 and a world premiere by highly regarded American composer Jonathan Leshnoff, will form the programme for this season finale.
