Simple is best when it comes to great skin

-

Sometimes the simplest things are the best.

And when it comes to skin care I believe this 100 per cent.

The more you fuss with your skin, the more problems you sometimes end up with.

Brides are always asking me for skin care advice on the run up to their big day.

They often go out and spend a fortune on expensive skin care - only to find that their skin breaks out or it becomes red, blotchy and bumpy.

It can be so frustrating for them because they feel they are doing everything right.

I completely understand that they want to look the very best version of themselves on their big day, but does that really have to be expensive or terribly time consuming? Actually, no, it doesn’t. Your skin is designed to look after itself, so when you mess with its natural process you can often do more harm than good. Obviously there are exceptions to this, but for the most part this is true.

You need very little to keep your skin looking great.

A nice gentle cleanser is very important as you want to remove all of your make up and give your skin a good clean.

However, exfoliating and masks are best kept as a weekly, even fortnightly boost - not every day.

And ditch those make up remover wipes! They are responsible for so many skin problems as lots of them are loaded with chemicals.

If you have some spots, use neat lavender oil on them and that will help then disappear as lavender promotes healing.

It’s also great for burns, bruising and calming inflamed skin. Just dot the oil neat on to the problem area and watch it disappear.

Lastly, starts guzzling your water. I really can’t stress this enough.

It does wonders for you - body and mind. You will begin to glow from within, your eyes will sparkle and your skin will shine with health.
