Theatre group to put on new play

-

CROWD of 2 Theatre Company celebrate their 10th year by proudly presenting their 11th and most exciting production to date, “Crossing,” a new play written and directed by Russell Kennedy.

Following it’s two highly successful preview performances in October 2018, the play will be performed at venues in northern England and Ireland during 2019 and will be at Oswaldtwistle’s Civic Arts Centre Studio on Friday, February 8, at 7.30pm.

Lauren Stirzaker, event manager at the theatre, said: “We are excited to offer this gripping drama as part of our events programme.

“Crowd of 2 have performed here at the Civic a number of times over the years and offer high quality acting and a fantastic performance not to be missed.”

This new play by Russell Kennedy seemingly deals with one woman’s struggle as she attempts to cope with life in the aftermath of a car accident.

Her memories of her time together with her beloved Jem are mingled with her efforts to decipher her increasingly disturbing dreams with the help of her psychiatrist Doctor Pete, who much prefers to be thought of as her personal guide.

In the aftermath of the car crash, things are getting on top of Harriet and, to make matters, worse she’s just been referred to a shrink.

Writer Russell Kennedy said: “When somebody close to you passes away unexpectedly, you quite often find yourself reminiscing with love ones, discussing the good times spent with the person that you’ve lost and talking about some of the challenges you’ve had to deal with in the immediate wake of their death.

“The pain will never completely fade away, but having been told by audiences just how much they’ve enjoyed the show, Crossing has been and will continue to be a thoroughly worthwhile experience.”

The play will follow Harriet’s Journey and asking…

Who was driving that night?

Are your dreams that important? And can jelly babies really help?
