RISHTON AND GREAT HARWOOD SOROPTIMISTS

-

MEMBERS of Rishton Prospects Panel have, over the last two weeks, planted approximately 800 bedding plants around various locations in Rishton.

These include planters at Parker Street Green, flowerbeds at High Street Bridge, five planters at Norden Court and the many planters in and around Rishton Station as well as the two circular planters at the junction of St Charles Road/Station Road.

The bedding plants have once again been donated by Nurture Landscaping Ltd (formerly Parkview Nurseries) who have, over many years now, supported us by providing the panel with summer and autumn planting.

The panel is made up of a small group of volunteers who carry out environmental projects throughout the village but who are at the moment struggling to water all the new planting. Therefore, members would be very grateful if residents living near any of the planted locations could give the plants a drink during the summer months, but particularly during hot sunny weather.

If you would like to join our group you would be most welcome.

We have an informal meeting at 7pm on the first Tuesday in each month (except August) held at the People’s Centre behind the Library when we consider any new projects and arrange working parties to maintain existing ones. New people with new ideas are always welcome.
