At the crossroads of various trade routes, Sri Lanka's cuisine is a reflection of its multicultu­ral history. Influences from Indian, Arab, Malay, Portuguese, Dutch, and British cuisines have blended seamlessly

My absolute favourite is Pol Roti paired with Chicken Curry and Papadum. Pol Roti is a coconut flatbread that captivated my taste buds with its unique texture and the rich flavours of the accompanyi­ng chicken curry." with the island's indigenous ingredient­s, creating a unique and diverse culinary heritage. This amalgamati­on of flavors and techniques has resulted in a wide array of dishes that cater to different tastes and preference­s.

Recently, I had the pleasure of conversing with two passionate food vloggers, Aisha Sidiqqui aka exploringm­ytalents and Reza Hossein Kiani aka feedkiani, who shared insights into their favourite Sri Lankan dishes.

Reza, equally enamored with Sri Lankan cuisine, raved about his top three favourites: egg hoppers, crab curry, and string hoppers with kingfish curry. The diverse spices and flavours in these dishes, evoke a desire to travel to Sri Lanka and explore more culinary delights.
