> Charges of murder and arson violence were filed against AAP councillor Tahir hussain and other unknown people on Thursday evening after it was alleged he was involved in the death of Ankit Sharma, the Intelligen­ce Bureau staffer. He was found dead in Chand Bagh area in northeast Delhi. Hussain on Thursday denied any involvemen­t in the riots or the killing of Sharma whose family accused him of being behind the murder, saying these are “baseless accusation­s”. > A hindu man Premkant Baghel saved lives of his six Muslim neighbours when a mob set their house on fire in Shiv Vihar, Indiatimes.com reported. As soon as Bagel came to know that miscreants had thrown petrol bombs and set Muslim home afire, he put his own life in danger and saved six lives trapped inside the burning house. He suffered severe burns while saving his friend’s mother from fire. He is battling for life in GTB Hospital.

> After several days of violence in North-East Delhi, the situation has started to slowly return back to normal. On Thursday early morning the security forces conducted flag marches in various localities of the violence-hit region.

> The camera drones pressed into service by the police and security forces in the violenceaf­fected areas have been playing a crucial role in checking any further escalation in tension.

> Local residents kept a vigil on Wednesday night in their respective localities in northeast Delhi. In Maujpur, which along with Babarpur, and Kabir Nagar were most affected by violence, area residents kept awake and kept a wary eye in their respective lanes and bylanes throughout the night.
