Housing Programme okays names of 300 citizens
dubai — The Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has approved the names of 300 citizens who are eligible for residential support, valued at Dh323 million.
The decision was taken in a meeting in Dubai on Wednesday, chaired by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
The approval of the names is part of 1,000 residential support decisions that will be announced at the end of every week of the holy month of Ramadan, starting from the current week, and the implementation of the directives of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresident and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Dr Al Nuaimi said that approving the decisions is in line with the directives of the country’s wise leadership and its desire to provide stability and happiness for Emirati families, continuing the approach of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The programme’s board also approved a memo to amend the regulations and conditions related to the eligibility of citizens who are married to more than one wife for full residential assistance, with a limit of Dh800,000. The memo states that if the other wife is not a UAE national, the period of marriage should be at least five years.
The board also approved another memo related to the eligibility of an Emirati woman who is married to a foreigner for residential support, wherein the financial support limit has been increased from Dh500,000 to Dh800,000 if its purpose is to build or purchase a new residence.
The programme also adopted new regulations for returning or disposing of residences and approved conditions for cancelling residential support decisions at any stage, including the implementation stage.
Dr Belhaif reviewed the “Dar Zayed Smart System,” which aims to coordinate the residential projects and neighbourhoods managed by the programme since its establishment in 1999. — Wam
