Dunne fined for unseemly behaviour
ras al khaimah — Aqua Blue Sport rider Conor Dunne was fined by The Commissaires Panel for unseemly behaviour towards the public during the second stage of the Dubai Tour in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday.
The Irishman was fined CHF (Swiss Franc) 100 for the behaviour, according to Article 12.1.040/29 of the regulations.
Meanwhile, UAE National Team’s Sport Director Mohamed Sherif was given a warning for failing to respect instructions by the Commissaires, for the unauthorised presence of the second team car in the race convoy.
Meanwhile, Rally Cycling’s Jesse Anthony, who was injured in a crash during the opening Stage on Tuesday, suffered a fracture.
Anthony underwent further CT scans and RX examinations, which highlighted a closed nondisplaced fracture of the greater tuberosity of the left humerus, the medical bulletin said on Wednesday.
The American Anthony was taken to hospital after sustaining contusive trauma to his right shoulder and wrist following a crash during the closing stages of the Nakheel Stage.
Several riders were involved in the crash that also included UAE Team Emirates’ Yousif Mirza Al Hammadi. But the Emirati had managed to pick himself up and finish the stage.
Other riders who were involved in the crash were Ivan Garcia Cortina, Grega Bole and Daniil Fominykh.
