‘Future Pioneers’ promotes science, arts and creativity
The Sharjah Girl Guides (SGG) organised a series of art, craft and entertainment events on the second day of its annual festival, which was held under the patronage of Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and patron of Sharjah Girl Guides.
Named ‘Future Pioneers’, the two-day festival’s main attraction was the interactive exhibition featuring five gates; each gate representing a badge category, namely, self-development, health, global awareness, international guiding and interests. Each gate showcased the girls’ creations, pictures, artwork, short videos of activities and events, as well as SGG’s previously organised events in innovative and interactive layouts.
“The festival offered a precious opportunity for the girls to enhance their skills, learn new ones and increase their self-confidence,” said Shaikha Al Shamsi, SGG Assistant Manager.
She also noted that the festival presented a wonderful opportunity to cultivate values of community spirit and volunteering in girls to become effective and influential members in society.
The second day’s workshops featured a ‘string workshop’ at the self-development gate, a ‘healthy plate’ workshop at the health gate sponsored by Majid Al Futtaim Charity Foundation, a ‘Lego workshop’ at the interest gate, an ‘environmental workshop’ conducted by Sharjah Environment Company (Beeah) at the global awareness gate, and a workshop on ‘tying bracelets’ at the international guiding gate.
