dubai — Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, has announced the launch of Youth Circles initiative, which will hold its first meeting in Dubai on Wednesday.

Themed ‘Youth and future skills’, a number of youth leaders and university students were expected to attend the meeting.

The Youth Circles is one of the initiatives approved recently by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of the 100-day Action Plan of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs.

Al Mazrui said that Youth Circles is a platform for positive interaction aimed at listening to the voice of young Emiratis in an innovative way. The Youth Circles meetings will be held periodically throughout the year in all the emirates and cities in the UAE. Any young Emirati can register for the initiative through a smart platform designed to serve this goal.

During the first meeting of the Youth Circles, Mazrui will present a paper to review the basic skills of the future which the youth must acquire to meet the future requirements.

The initiative for the youth reflects the efforts of UAE leadership to promote unity and community participation as well as raise the level of communication between government and citizens. The Emirates Youth Council will oversee and organise the ‘Youth Circles’ in all areas of the UAE, including universities, schools, institutions, parks, commercial centres and sports clubs. —
