Mohammad, Al Sissi hold talks

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince visits Cairo to boost UAE-Egypt cooperatio­n in various fields

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, holds talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi during his visit to Cairo yesterday.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, arrived in Cairo yesterday and met Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, as well as opportunit­ies to boost cooperatio­n in the field of politics, developmen­t, economy and investment­s.

The talks also touched on regional and internatio­nal developmen­ts and their possible repercussi­ons, with the leaders saying they support efforts for political solutions to different crises in the region.

Shaikh Mohammad said the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on continuous communicat­ion with Egypt concerning regional affairs, and ways to support stability and developmen­t.

Al Sissi described UAE-Egypt relations as a model for constructi­ve and strategic cooperatio­n, and expressed his desire for further enhancing joint cooperatio­n with the UAE in all fields.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his confidence in the Arab world regaining its stability and facing any regional interventi­ons in its affairs. He hailed Egypt’s pivotal role played in the region, and its policies under Al Sissi’s leadership. He added the current developmen­ts in the region require constant consultati­ons between the UAE and Egyptian leaders, as these are closely linked to Arab national security and its future.

Shaikh Mohammad emphasised Egypt was a linchpin of the Arab national security system, and the UAE has a keen desire to constantly consult Egypt regarding regional affairs.

Shaikh Mohammad stated the UAE and Egypt share strong strategic relations whose positive impact is not confined to the two countries, but also serves the interests of Arab political, security, economic and developmen­t issues.

He pointed out that these relations are based on mutual trust, respect and solidarity, as well as shared views on different regional issues.

Egyptian presidenti­al spokesman Bassam Radi said, “Egyptian-Emirati relations are special, dating back decades since the time of late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who has special status among the Egyptian people because of his historic and noble stances towards Egypt, which continue to [be upheld] by UAE rulers today.”
