hether you are looking for a home in the UAE or thinking about overseas investor citizenship and migration, the 2017 edition of the International Real Estate & Investment Show 2017 (IREIS), which begins today at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), offers all these and more.

The ninth edition of the expo attracted more than 120 local and international real estate exhibitors, including property developers, investors, real estate brokers and related service representatives. Over 15,000 visitors are expected to the show this year.

“As a consumer-focused exhibition, IREIS 2017 creates a 30 per cent growth in terms of visitors and exhibitors participation,” says Antoine Georges, Managing Director of Dome Exhibitions, organiser of IREIS, adding, “The low property prices in the UAE and the expected growth in the coming years, especially with the announcement of new projects and the initiatives related to Expo 2020, will further offer traction to the real estate sector.”

In addition to a strong portfolio of local exhibitors such as Arada, Fam Holding, Danube Properties, G&CO Real Estate, Majid Al Futtaim, Damac, Green Valley, Tiger and Compass, IREIS showcases a host of high-end properties, ranging from residential to land and mixed-use, from developers in Europe, the US, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.

Dedicated pavilions from countries including Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal, the Philippines, Egypt, India and Pakistan are being set up in collaboration with their respective embassies and trade promotion councils.

If the response to the past edition is a barometer of the event’s success, this year’s IREIS looks to hold plenty of promise. The 2016 show hosted 92 exhibitors from 24 countries and attracted more than 8,500 visitors of 73 nationalities, generating about $180 million (Dh661 million) in sales.

What’s on offer

“We will have three days of exclusive deals on properties in the UAE, ranging from low EMIs and mortgage rates to competitive payment plans and prelaunch offers,” explains Dony Cyril, Director of Exhibitions, IREIS 2017.

Another highlight is the networking lounge for high-net-worth individuals, where visitors can hold one-on-one sessions with representatives from international property investments firms. “Our new segment, Investors Meet Zone, is an innovative meeting platform designed to connect projects and the investors worldwide,” Cyril adds. “A must-visit at the show, our dual citizenship and residency by investment pavilion will give people the chance to learn and compare global investor citizenship and migration programmes.”

IREIS 2017 will see consultants providing tailored investor immigrations programmes for those looking at dual citizenship opportunities.

“We will also tackle various issues concerning residency and citizenship by investment through our panel discussion and conference,” Cyril adds.
